Marcus Rashford has once again made negative headlines in England. The Manchester United England striker was spotted in a nightclub hours after the painful loss to Manchester City. “It is unacceptable, but he does everything he can to help the team,” said his coach Erik ten Hag, who had to put out a new fire.
“Yes, I am aware of it,” the Dutch trainer replied when it came to his attacker’s night trip. “I talked to him about it. He apologized and that’s it. For the rest it is an internal matter.”
Not for the first time
It is not the first time that Rashford has been negatively reported in the media for something extra-sporty. For example, he crashed his very expensive Rolls-Royce in September and was left out of the selection last season after oversleeping.
But even after this “unacceptable” situation, Ten Hag does not intend to pass Rashford. “He fits in with our team and is very motivated to turn things around. I know how much effort he puts in.”
“He makes a mistake, but that doesn’t mean he throws his weight behind it,” Ten Hag continues. “I see him every day at training. Off the field I see how he lives and I am sure he is doing everything he can to help the team achieve results.”
