Whitted averaged 17.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game with Mersin last season in Turkey. She started this season in Italy with San Giovanni Valdarno, but only made five appearances there.
On Wednesday, Namur announced the departure of Sweden’s Abigael Asoro. She was replaced by the Lithuanian Laura Zelnyte. Zelnyte made the switch from the Spanish Zaragoza, where she played alongside Belgian Cat Serena-Lynn Geldof.
Namur is still active in the EuroCup, in which the Romanian Sepsi is the opponent in the sixteenth finals. Sepsi is an ex-club of Whitted and the current employer of Betty Mununga from Brussels. The first leg is on January 5 in Namur, the second leg a week later in Romania. In their own country, Namen dropped to seventh place after two consecutive defeats. The competition will resume on January 7.
