Later in the day, David Goffin (ATP-53) gives Grigor Dimitrov (ATP-28) a match in the second match. Matches between Elise Mertens (WTA-29) and Viktoriya Tomova (WTA-90) and between Zizou Bergs (ATP-129) and Dimitar Kuzmanov (ATP-196) will follow on Sunday. Mertens and Goffin will compete in mixed doubles against Tomova and Dimitrov.

For the Belgians it is the first confrontation in group A. Bulgaria already suffered a 4-1 defeat against the Greece of Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP-4) and Maria Sakkari (WTA-6), opponents of the Belgians on Monday and Tuesday. The six group winners play play-offs for a place in the semi-finals. Of the three losers of those playoffs, the team that performed best in the group stage is also fished out for the Final Four.
