Chelsea struggled past second division Leeds United on Wednesday evening on their way to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. The Blues won 3-2. Manchester United also had a lot of difficulty with Divock Origi’s Nottingham Forest.

Nicholas Jackson (15.) and Mykhailo Mudryk (37.) seemed to put things in order before half time after Mateo Joseph’s (8.) opening goal, but Joseph (59.) leveled the score after the break. The redeeming 3-2 only came from the foot of Connor Gallagher in the ninetieth minute.

Manchester United also had a hard time at Nottingham Forest (0-1). Casemiro (89.) scored the only goal of the match against Forest at the City Ground, for whom Divock Origi again started in the starting line-up.

Finally, competition leader Liverpool easily gained the upper hand against second division Southampton (3-0). Due to the many injuries, many youngsters were given a chance and 18-year-olds Louie Koumas (44.) and Jayden Danns (73. and 88.) made the difference for the Reds.

In the last eight, the top match between Man U and Liverpool is scheduled, Chelsea will face the Leicester of Wout Faes and Dennis Praet. With Manchester City-Newcastle the third poster doesn’t look bad either, the battle between Wolves and Coventry is a bit more open.
