LA LEAGUE. Atlético Madrid and Axel Witsel come out on top against Sevilla, the match ends with ten yellow cards and one red

Atlético Madrid was able to add three points against Sevilla on Saturday in a catch-up match of the fourth matchday of La Liga. The score was 1-0 in the Spanish capital, although this match will not be remembered for its beautiful football.

There was not much football played in the Estadio Metropolitano. The match was full of tough duels and, as is often the case in a tough football match, not many goals were scored. During the first period, Sergio Ramos kept the visitors straight a few times, but just after half-time the ball went into the net. Atlético, with Axel Witsel at the heart of the defense for ninety minutes, got rewarded thanks to Marcos Llorente (47), the golden substitute from coach Diego Simeone, who put the final score on the board. The Andalusians missed the injured Dodi Lukebakio and Adnan Januzaj got about ten minutes of playing time.

In the standings of the Spanish first division, the capital’s FC Barcelona share third place with 38 points. Sevilla only follows fifteenth with sixteen. Real Madrid and Girona top the rankings with 45 units.
