UEFA drew for the play-offs on the way to the European Championship in Germany (June 14-July 14, 2024) at its headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Thursday. The twelve countries involved know their route to the final round. Three countries can still qualify for the European Championship via the play-offs.
Thursday’s draw still had to answer two questions. There was the question of which track Finland, Iceland and Ukraine would end up in and it still had to be determined which countries could host the final within their play-off route.
This was already known in advance spoor A would consist of Poland, Wales and Estonia. Finland joined those three countries. Poland hosts Estonia in the semi-finals of the play-offs, Wales meets Finland. The winner of the semi-final between Wales and Finland will host the final in track A.
In spoor B Israel and Bosnia were joined by Iceland and Ukraine. Israel meets Iceland, Bosnia meets Ukraine. Home advantage in the final goes to the winner of the semi-final between Bosnia and Ukraine.
In spoor C Finally, the four participating countries were already known before the draw. Georgia will meet Luxembourg in the semi-finals, Greece and Kazakhstan. Only the host for the final had yet to be determined. That was the winner of the semi-final between Georgia and Luxembourg.
The semi-finals of the play-offs will take place on Thursday, March 21, the finals on Tuesday, March 26.
