VIDEO. Painful evening for Antwerp, but 18-year-old Arthur Vermeeren makes himself noticed again with two assists in the Champions League

Wing players Arbnor Muja and Michel-Ange Balikwisha managed to give The Great Old a (globally speaking) deserved 2-0 halftime score. Each time at the request of maestro Arthur Vermeeren.

After less than three minutes, the 18-year-old all-rounder captured the ball just outside the Ukrainians’ large rectangle. Then Muja finished it off after a nice chop move. After half an hour, Vermeeren played the ball in the back of the defense. In this way he put Balikwisha on his way to the double lead.

At 18 years and 239 days, Vermeeren is the third youngest player since the start of measurements in 2003-2004 to provide two assists in the Champions League. Theo Walcott in 2006 (for Arsenal) and Mario Balotelli in 2008 (for Inter Milan) preceded our compatriot.
