The new market values in Jupiler Pro League: Antwerp talent Arthur Vermeeren shoots up, Ghent striker Gift Orban falls out of the top three

The renowned website Transfermarkt.be came on Tuesday with an update of the market values of all players from the Jupiler Pro League. Antwerp midfielder Arthur now has an estimated market value of 30 million euros, an increase of five million euros compared to the previous update.

“Vermeeren is the greatest talent in the Belgian competition,” Area Manager Bart Tamsyn explains the increase on the website. “Despite the fact that he is only 18 years old, he consistently performs at a high level and attracts the interest of many foreign top clubs and he has now also played his first international matches. By the summer at the latest, the Jupiler Pro League will probably be too small a competition for him and he will make the move abroad.”

Bilal El Khannouss from Racing Genk increased his market value from 18 million to 22 million euros. He is the second most expensive player in the Jupiler Pro League. In third place is Andreas Skov Olsen of Club Brugge, who maintains his market value but benefits from the fact that teammate Antonio Nusa (18) and Gift Orban (21) saw their market value fall. Nusa has lost 3 million euros and is now worth 17 million euros, while Orban’s value has fallen by 5 million euros.

While Club Brugge has lost around 14 million euros in total value and is now almost level with Antwerp and KRC Genk, KAA Gent is approaching the 100 million euro mark despite the loss for Orban. RSC Anderlecht has passed the 100 million euro mark for the first time since mid-2020. After a few difficult years, the record champion is currently in second place in the Jupiler Pro League rankings, thanks in part to the productive Danish duo Anders Dreyer and Kasper Dolberg, who are among the top scorers in the competition. Thanks to upgrades of 3.5 million and 3 million euros respectively, both now have a market value of 10 million euros.

Amoura biggest increase

Union is still far from the top in terms of market values, but the total value of the team has increased by €19.4 million to €66.8 million. In addition to Japanese international Koki Machida (from 3 to 6 million euros) and Cameron Puertas (from 4 to 7 million euros), the market value of trendsetter Mohamed Amoura in particular increased. “Amoura came from FC Lugano from the Swiss league for 4 million euros in the summer. He has long since recouped that amount and is seen as one of the biggest discoveries of this season,” says Tamsyn. “The market value of the Algerian international has therefore increased from 4.5 million to 10 million euros, which is also the largest increase in the current update.”
