Cash register is ringing at the Premier League: TV rights sold for a record amount of 7.8 (!) billion euros

The English Premier League has sold its domestic TV rights for the period 2025-2029 for a record amount of 6.7 billion pounds (7.81 billion euros) to Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

Sky Sports secured four of the five packages and will bring at least 215 Premier League matches per season into British living rooms. The fifth package with 52 football matches is for TNT Sports.

According to the Premier League, this is the largest media deal in sports rights ever in the United Kingdom. The contract is valid from the 2025-2026 season until the end of the 2028-2029 season. The current contract (until mid-2025) would generate £5 billion over three years.
