A Northeast Cup 2022 is the 19th edition of the soccer competition held in the Brazilian Northeast, organized by Liga do Nordeste in partnership with CBF. The competition, which brings together great Brazilian teams, has become one of the biggest attractions of football in the northeast and in Brazil.
After the dispute in the preliminary stages, which in this edition had a different format, the 16 clubs that will be in the group stage have already been defined and drawn. Remember that teams from the same city are placed in different groups.

How was the division of the Northeast Cup groups?
Group A: Fortaleza, Sport, CSA, Sampaio Corrêa, Campinense, Globo-RN, Atlético de Alagoinhas and Sergipe
B Group: Bahia, Ceará, Náutico, CRB, Botafogo-PB, Altos-PI, Floresta-CE and Sousa-PB
Competition Dates and Format
The 16 teams that are classified for this phase are divided into two groups, with eight participants. The regulation says that clubs from the same state, for example, Ceará and Fortaleza, must be in different groups.
Therefore, the teams of Group A face the teams of Group B, with eight rounds in this phase. After that, four from each group advance to the quarter-final dispute in a single game.
The first games of the group stage are scheduled to take place on January 22 and 23, 2022.
The quarter-finals (scheduled for March 19) and semi-finals (reserved for April 5) will be a single game. The big decision takes place in the first leg (April 12) and return (April 26).
What is the prize for participating teams?
The award of the Copa do Nordeste is divided by the classification of the teams in the CBF ranking. This same ranking is used to define the separation of pots for the group stage draw.
As a result, teams in Pot 1 receive BRL 1.9 million, Pot 2 BRL 1.4 million, Pot 3 BRL 1.2 million and Pot 4 BRL 640,000.
Where to watch the Northeast Cup 2022?
The SBT channel is responsible for broadcasting the Copa do Nordeste games on the open network of channels. The broadcaster divides the exhibitions between its affiliates in the region and takes the best matches of the tournament to the fans.
In the Northeast, the channel has 11 affiliates: TV Jornal (PE; Recife and Caruaru), TV Aratu (BA), TV Jangadeiro (CE), TV Ponta Verde (AL), TV Difusora (MA; São Luís and Imperatriz), TV Tambaú (PB, João Pessoa), TV Borborema (PB, Campina Grande), TV Cidade Verde (PI) and, finally, TV Ponta Negra (RN).

On pay-TV channels, the Copa do Nordeste games, however, are broadcast by the Disney Group, which renewed its contract with the competition. The conglomerate airs matches on ESPN, Fox Sports and Star+, a new streaming service.
The group is entitled to 14 games, two in the knockout stage, eight in the group stage and four in the final stage, but including the two final matches. Disney owns the exclusive rights to pay TV.

The Nordeste FC/Sporting Bet platform displays all Copa do Nordeste games live for fans to watch on streaming, wherever they are. For those interested, the monthly plan for the pay-per-view system costs R$ 23.90.
