Maaseik opens volleyball competition with victory, but leaves set in Borgworm

Maaseik won 1-3 on Sunday on the field of Borgworm on the first day of play of EuroMillions Volley League, the Belgian men’s volleyball championship. The Limburgers won 17-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 22-25.

On Saturday, Roeselare and Aalst also started their season with a win. Reigning national champion Roeselare won 3-0 against Leuven (25-23, 26-24 and 25-20). Aalst recovered after losing the first set against Achel and won 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-20).

On Friday Menen already won 1-3 (18-25, 25-27, 25-19 and 18-25) in Ghent.
