Chelsea hijst zich weer aan de leiding in Premier League na 0-1 bij promovendus Brentford

Chelsea have completed the difficult move to fellow city rivals Brentford well. Thomas Tuchel’s boys won by the smallest margin after a goal from Ben Chilwell and jumped Liverpool back into the lead.

After the victories of Manchester City and Liverpool, it was up to Chelsea to follow suit. Although a game visiting Brentford was not an easy one. The PhD candidate only lost once. The home team wanted to keep it that way and took the lead in no time. However, Bryan Mbeumo hit the post. Afterwards, Chelsea came into play a little more, but first saw Timo Werner miss a great opportunity and then a goal by Romelu Lukaku was disallowed. In the end it was left back Ben Chilwell who gave the Blues the lead in the first period.

In the second half Chelsea kept control for a long time, although the home side came close to equalizing. Toney found Mendy on his way, Mbeumo saw his shot hit the post again moments later.
