Belgian Cat Hanne Mestdagh won the return of London Lions in the qualifications of the FIBA EuroCup Women, but is still eliminated for the group stage.

Hanne Mestdagh and Gran Canaria had lost the first leg 76-46 in England last week. In the return, the Spanish team immediately took control of the match (half-time: 40-27), but the qualification never came into view again. Gran Canaria eventually won 67-56, but could not qualify for the group stage. Hanne Mestdagh scored 3 points and 5 rebounds.
A number of Belgian Cats are in the group stage of the FIBA EuroCup Women. Julie Vanloo with the Russian Krasnoyarsk is in group A. Kyara Linskens with the Russian Nadezhda Orenburg in group E, Jana Raman with the Spanish Valencia in group I with Kangaroos Mechelen (including Billie and Becky Massey and Laure Resimont) and Namur Capitale (Marjorie Carpreaux). Julie Allemand with the French Lyon ASVEL in group J with Liège Panthers and Castors Braine (including Elise Ramette, Maxuella Lisowa and Sam Van Buggenhout) in group K.
The group stage of the FIBA EuroCup Women will start on Thursday 14 October. Of the twelve groups of four, the top 2 and the four best thirds qualified for the second round.
