The logic was respected on Saturday on the second day of the Laver Cup tennis in Boston, USA. Russian Daniil Medvedev, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and German Alexander Zverev each donated two points to the European team, which now lead 11-1 against the side that represents the rest of the world.

The Europeans, who won all games on Saturday, only need two more points to collect the Laver Cup for the fourth time in as many editions. One win is enough on Sunday, because on the final day there is a battle for three points in every match.

Number two in the world Medvedev, brand new US Open winner, easily beat Canadian Denis Shapovalov (ATP 12) 6-4 and 6-0. Tsitsipas, the world’s number three, defeated Australian Nick Kyrgios (ATP 95) 6-3 and 6-4. Zverev (ATP 4) had more trouble with American John Isner (ATP 22): 7-6 (7/5), 6-7 (6/8) and 10/5 in the super tiebreak.

In the doubles, Russian Andrey Rublev and Tsitsipas beat Isner and Kyrgios 6-7 (8/10), 6-3 and 10/4.
