Basketball club Namur has announced the arrival of 34-year-old Marjorie Carpréaux. “Marjorie will become the team’s playmaker while Portuguese Ines Matos Viana is working on her recovery,” the Belgian champion said in a press release on Monday.
After the Belgian Cat left Castors Braine last season, she arrived at her new Polish club Poznan in early September. A few days later she returned to Belgium. A week ago, Carpréaux announced that she would be taking a break from her professional career “after a tough year”. Carpréaux had to say goodbye to her father, among other things, and the corona crisis hit hard.
Between 2005 and 2008, Carpréaux already played for Namur, where she also spent a few months in 2010. She will start training on Monday.
Ines Matos Viana suffered a serious knee injury in January. The Portuguese was operated on and is expected to make her return within two months.
