Belgian Cat Julie Vanloo leaves the Spanish Zaragoza and moves to the Russian Krasnoyarsk.
From the sun in Spain to the icy cold Siberia. That’s Julie Vanloo’s next career move. The 28-year-old guard left Belgium in 2013 and has been traveling through the world ever since.
Vanloo started her career abroad at Mondeville, France. With the Swedish Lulea she became champion in 2016 together with compatriot and ex-Cat Sofie Hendrickx, in 2020 she did that trick again with Lulea. The Italian Virtus Ragusa, the Turkish Istanbul, the French Lyon, the Hungarian Pecs and the Australian Townsville Fire also sparkle on her resume. Julie Vanloo is currently in Japan and she is completing the final phase of the preparation with the Belgian Cats for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The Cats open the Games against Australia next Tuesday.
Third Cat in Russia
After Emma Meesseman (Ekaterinburg) and Kyara Linskens (Orenburg), who played for Krasnoyarsk in the past, Vanloo is now the third Belgian player in the Russian basketball competition. Also ex-Belgian Cat Noémie Mayombo is ex-Krasnoyarsk.
