The Belgian national volleyball players lost their second game of the second tournament in the European Golden League on Saturday. The Red Dragons lost 1-3 in Liepaja in Latvia after a fiercely contested game against Estonia. The set positions were 25-20, 26-28, 30-32 and 26-28.
The Belgians played their first tournament in the European Golden League last week. In Tartu, Estonia, they won against Latvia (3-1) and Spain (3-1) but lost to Estonia (2-3). A second tournament is planned for the Dragons in Latvia this weekend, where they will play the same opponents. On Friday they defeated Latvia (3-1), the final against Spain follows on Sunday.
The Final Four of the European Golden League will be organized in Sportcampus Lange Munte in Kortrijk on 19 and 20 June. Belgium is directly qualified as organizer for this tournament. Later in the year, in September, the European Championship is scheduled in Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland and Estonia.
