Skateboarders Roos Zwetsloot (20), Keet Oldenbeuving (16) and Candy Jacobs (30) have secured their ticket for Tokyo at the Street World Cup in Rome.
Dutch champion Zwetsloot finished in 8th place and thus delivered the best performance. During the semi-finals, she sustained an injury to her foot and as a precaution she withdrew for the final.
To withdraw
“Withdrawing Roos from the final was the most sensible choice. We would rather let the podium shoot here than later at the Games,” said national coach Sjoerd Vlemmings.
Oldenbeuving and Jacobs did not get further than the semi-finals in Rome and finished in 11th and 32nd place. Just like the superpowers United States, Brazil and Japan, the Netherlands is fully represented in the Street section of the Olympic Games with 3 skaters among the women.
New
