Red Dragons winnen van Letland in European Golden League volley

The Belgian national volleyball players won their first game of the second tournament in the European Golden League on Friday. The Red Dragons defeated the home team 1-3 in Liepaja in Latvia. The set positions were 28-30, 23-25, 25-19 and 16-25. The party lasted almost two hours.

The Belgians played their first tournament in the European Golden League last week. In Tartu, Estonia, they won against Latvia (3-1) and Spain (3-1) but lost to Estonia (2-3).

A second tournament is planned for the Dragons in Latvia this weekend, where they will play the same opponents. After today/Friday’s match against Latvia, they will meet Estonia the next day and the final against Spain will follow on Sunday.

The Final Four of the European Golden League will be organized in Sportcampus Lange Munte in Kortrijk on 19 and 20 June. Belgium is directly qualified as organizer for this tournament. Later in the year, in September, the European Championship is scheduled in Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland and Estonia.
