The Belgian national volleyball women won their fifth match in the Nations League on Tuesday in Rimini, Italy. The Yellow Tigers defeated Poland 3-2. The set positions were 25-15, 17-25, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-12.
Last week, the Tigers lost their first three games in the Nations League against the Netherlands (0-3), Russia (2-3) and Germany (0-3). On Monday, the players of national coach Gert Vande Broek recorded their first win against the Dominican Republic (3-2). In the standings, Belgium has two wins and five points.
Tomorrow/Wednesday will be the sixth game against South Korea. Until June 20, the Belgian volleyball women will play fifteen matches in Rimini. The top four after the group stage will advance to the final round.
Last year, the Nations League was canceled due to the corona pandemic. The tournament will take place this year in a bubble in Rimini, Italy. In 2018, Belgium finished thirteenth in the first edition, a year later they missed the final round in seventh, which was then finished with six.
After the Nations League, the European Championships for the Yellow Tigers will follow next summer (18 August-4 September).
