The Belgian national volleymen also won their second game in the European Golden League on Saturday. The Red Dragons defeated Spain 1-3 in Tartu, Estonia. The set positions were 23-25, 25-21, 22-25 and 33-35. The match, of which especially the last set was fiercely fought, lasted more than two hours.
The Dragons opened their European Golden League in Tartu on Friday with a 1-3 (25-19, 16-25, 14-25 and 21-25) win against Latvia. A duel with home country Estonia awaits on Sunday, again in Tartu. A second tournament is then planned in Latvia from 4 to 6 June, where the Belgians will play the same opponents. On June 4, they will play against Latvia, the next day they will meet Estonia and on June 6, they will play against Spain.
The Final Four of the European Golden League will be organized in Sportcampus Lange Munte in Kortrijk on 19 and 20 June. Belgium is directly qualified for this tournament as organizer. Later in the year, in September, the European Championship is scheduled in Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland and Estonia.
