Padel will enter the European Games program for the first time in Krakow in 2023. The European Olympic Committees (EOC) announced this on Wednesday.
The third edition of the European Games is on the menu in 2023 in Poland. It is only the very first time since the founding of the International Padel Federation (IFP) in 1991 that padel is on the program of a major multisport event. IFP currently has 51 affiliated national federations. The padel competition in Krakow will last five days and 64 players will be allowed to participate. There is double men, double women and double mixed on the menu.
Padel is the fifteenth sport to be announced for Krakow 2023. Earlier there was certainty about basket 3×3, archery, badminton, beach handball, boxing, Thai boxing, canoe, cycling, karate, modern pentathlon, shooting, wall climbing, taekwondo and triathlon. More sports will follow in the coming weeks.
