Greet Minnen (WTA 125) qualified for the second qualifying round of Roland Garros on Monday. She defeated Urszula Radwańska (WTA 230) in three sets. It became 5-7, 6-3 and 6-1 after 2 hours and 22 minutes of tennis. The party was interrupted for a while by the rains in Paris.
The 23-year-old Minnen had also won her previous meeting with the 30-year-old Radwańska in 2018.
In the second and penultimate preliminary round, Minnen takes on the Australian Arina Rodionova (WTA 169) or the Indian Ankita Raina (WTA 182).
Greet Minnen made her debut on the main draw of Roland Garros last year. She lost in the first round to the Argentinian Nadia Podoroska.
Later in the day, Ysaline Bonaventure (WTA 126) and Marie Benoit (WTA 232) will also come into action on the French clay court.
