Because of the corona pandemic, no big ceremony for the Basketball Awards this year. During halftime of the Antwerp Giants-Ostend match next Sunday (directly at Sporza), the basketball prizes (men) of the Pro League and Het Nieuwsblad will be awarded corona-proof. The trophies of Player and Promise of the Year (Het Nieuwsblad) will be presented at an international match in June of the Belgian Cats in Kortrijk. Today we present the three nominees per category. The Player of the Year trophy of Het Nieuwsblad is one of the most prestigious sports trophies in Belgium and was founded in 1959.
