On the fourth matchday in Serie A, Fiorentina defeated Atalanta Bergamo on Sunday after a fiercely fought match. In the Stadio Artemio Franchi, the Conference League finalist, opponent of KRC Genk in that competition on Thursday, won 3-2. Christian Kouamé (ex-Anderlecht) decided the game.

Atalanta was the first to take the lead after twenty minutes after a goal by Dutch international Teun Koopmeiners. The home team then went up and over Atalanta first through Giacomo Bonaventura (35.) and ten minutes later through defender Lucas Martinez Quarta (45.). After the break, Ademola Lookman (53.) tied the score again, Kouamé, who was hired by the Purple & White for a season two years ago, crowned himself the match winner fifteen minutes before the end. Charles De Ketelaere was taken off after an hour in his second starting position for his new club.
