It’s overarm between Donald Trump and LeBron James. The former US president has accused the basketball star of “dividing the country” after James sent a Twitter message targeting a police officer who shot a black girl.
James posted the message Wednesday, a day after 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant was shot and killed in the city of Columbus, Ohio, by an agent intervening in a domestic dispute. He addressed Nicholas Reardon, the agent in question, saying, “You are next: accountability.” That was a reference to an earlier report in which James had applauded the verdict in the trial against Derek Chauvin, the police officer who killed George Floyd, with the word “accountability.”

James deleted the message soon after publication, but not before Donald Trump saw it. The former US president – who no longer has his own Twitter account – wrote that “LeBron James should focus on basketball, rather than be part of the destruction of the NBA, which has just had the lowest ratings in its long history. the competition has recorded. His RACIST statements are divisive, hateful, insulting and demeaning. He may be a great basketball player but he’s not doing anything to bring our Country together! ”
