Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen Advance to Second Round in Miami, Ready to Pack Their Bags

After 1 hour and 57 minutes of tennis, Gillé and Vliegen had to admit their superiority to the Monegasque Hugo Nys and the Pole Jan Zielinski with 7-6 (7/5) and 7-6 (7/2).

The 33-year-old Gillé (ATP 28 double) and the 30-year-old Vliegen (ATP 28 double) have won seven ATP titles together in the past, including two in 2023: in Pune and Estoril. In 2021 they were the best in Singapore, in 2020 they won the overall victory in Nur-Sultan (now Astana again). In 2019 they triumphed in Zhuhai, Gstaad and Bastad. They have also lost five finals: in Kitzbühel (2019), Munich (2021), Hamburg (2023), at Roland Garros (2023) and in Hong Kong (2024).
