Naomi Osaka will not participate in the WTA tournament in Stuttgart, Germany, in mid-next month (clay / 565,530 euros), the organizers announced on Wednesday.
The Japanese number two in the world, currently playing in the WTA 1,000 of the American Miami, will only start her European clay court season in May.
23-year-old Osaka is unbeaten this year, after winning the Australian Open. In the preparation tournament in Melbourne, she withdrew to the semi-finals.
The Stuttgart tournament is considered a preparation tournament at Roland Garros. Belgian tennis players are currently not on the placement list.
