Leicester City had already taken the lead in the first half. It needed some help from Fred, who on behalf of Manchester United came out with a terrible pass to goalkeeper Dean Henderson. Kelechi Iheanacho gratefully accepted the gift and scored the 1-0.
Manchester United tied the score shortly before the break after a goal from Mason Greenwood, but Leicester took the lead again early in the second half. This time it was a Belgian goal: Youri Tielemans was launched by Kelechi Iheanacho, walked a long way with the ball, and finally hit the 2-1 layer from just inside the penalty area.
Leicester City had a few good chances to score 3-1 after Tielemans’ goal. Tielemans and Timothy Castagne played the entire match, Dennis Praet came in after 73 minutes. Leicester will face Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final. The Foxes never won the trophy.
