David Goffin meteen uitgeschakeld door Kei Nishikori op ATP Dubai

David Goffin (ATP 13) failed to qualify for the eighth finals of the ATP tournament in Dubai on Tuesday (hard / $ 1,897,805).

Goffin, the fifth seed free in the first round, lost in the second round in two sets to the Japanese Kei Nishikori (ATP 41): 6-3 and 7-6 (7/3).

Nishikori, former number four in the world, now leads 4-0 in the mutual confrontations. The previous game dated from six years ago.

In doubles, Goffin went down on the side of Joran Vliegen in the first round on Monday. The Croatian second seed heads Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic proved too strong in two sets (7-6 (7/2) and 6-2).

Also Dominic Thiem home

David Goffin is not the only big name to leave the Dubai ATP tournament early on Tuesday. First seed Dominic Thiem (ATP-4) went down in two sets on Tuesday in the second round against South African Lloyd Harris (ATP-81). After 72 minutes it was 6-3 and 6-4.

Harris is a qualifier, but the 24-year-old South African already made his mark last week by eliminating Swiss Stan Wawrinka in the first round of the ATP tournament in Doha. In the eighth finals Harris will meet the Serbian Filip Krajnovic (ATP-33).
