Tajon Buchanan watches from the stands how his new club Inter wins against Hellas Verona in injury time

Inter did not keep the points at home against Hellas Verona without a fight on Saturday afternoon during the nineteenth round of the Serie A. After an exciting final phase, the score was 2-1 in Milan. Ex-Club Brugge player Tajon Buchanan was in the stands.

Top scorer Lautaro Martinez (13.) opened the scoring for the leader early on. Henrikh Mkhitaryan reached the Argentinian, who scored his sixteenth competition goal from the penalty point with the outside right.

Inter rested too much on its laurels in the second half and was surprised by Thomas Henry (74) just before the start of the final quarter. The French former OH Leuven striker was just on the field when he deflected the equalizer with his knee into the net. An accurate rebound from substitute Davide Frattesi (90.+2) finally made Giuseppe Meazza burst at the seams. But it wasn’t over yet. Henry killed the ultimate opportunity for a draw in the 100th minute by kicking a penalty against the post.

Jackson Tchatchoua and Cyril Ngonge were given a starting place for the visitors, who finished with a man less after Darko Lazovic was sent off after heavy protests in the aftermath of the winning goal. Tchatchoua completed the 90 minutes, while Ngonge was allowed to rest in the 87th minute.

In the ranking of the Italian top division, Inter is in first place with 48 points. Hellas is in need of relegation, in eighteenth position with fourteen units.
