Maaseik just failed to qualify for the final of the CEV Cup on Wednesday. With a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) against the Russian St. Petersburg, the Limburgers made up for the 1-3 defeat from the first leg, but in the following golden set they still had to score 16- 18 lay the thumbs. In the golden set, Maaseik came 10-14, but was then unable to cash in six match balls.
