The Argentinian youngster Juan Manuel Cerundolo won the Cordoba tournament (clay / $ 294,235) on Sunday. The world’s number 335 played its very first ATP tournament in its own country. He defeated Spaniard Albert Ramos (ATP 47) in the final 6-0, 2-6 and 6-2.

The 19-year-old Cerundolo pushed from the qualifications to the main table. His piece of art is reminiscent of that of Guillermo Coria. He also won the first ATP tournament in which he took part in 2001 in Vina del Mar, Chile, at the age of 19.

“I still can’t believe it,” said the left-handed teenager, who hopped to 181st on the new world ranking. “It has been an incredible week.”

33-year-old Ramos grabbed next to a third ATP title. “First of all, I have to congratulate JuanMa,” he said. “I did everything I could. It’s a shame I couldn’t win the title. ”
