French center Joakim Noah (36) is calling it quits after 13 seasons in the NBA. He has been without a club since he was released by the Los Angeles Clippers this winter.
The son of French former tennis player Yannick Noah and Swedish top model Cecilia Rhode was drafted ninth by Chicago in June 2007. He would end up playing for the Bulls for 9 seasons. Noah, who was selected twice for the All Star Game (2013, 2014), reached the final of the Eastern Conference with Chicago in 2011. In 2014 he was voted the best defensive player in the NBA.
After his stint with the Bulls, he played for the New York Knicks (2016-2018) and the Memphis Grizzlies (2018-2019). He then struggled with an Achilles tendon injury, eventually ending up with the LA Clippers in March 2020.
Joakim Noah played 22 times for the French national team between 2009 and 2011. With Les Bleus, he won silver with Tony Parker in the team at the 2011 European Championship in Lithuania. He made $ 140 million in the NBA.
